Being a child of the 1970's, I always had a love of Holly Hobbie.
Actually so did my grandmother, I remember (and now have) her 1976 Holly Hobbie Calendar and a few other 'trinkets', I think I'll be making some cards out of this calendar some time soon - or maybe later in the year ;)
My new style of bunting is a 'Holly Hobbie & vintage floral'.
I think I have came up with some thing so unique, you will not find a bunting quite like this anywhere in the world!
This cute fabric is 'hard to find' (made in the 1970's), I have purchased this preloved Holly Hobbie material from the USA - expensive to buy & to post, but its worthwhile, it's just so sweet!

Did you know?
Holly Hobbie (born 1944) is an American writer and illustrator, and the name of a fictional character based on this person. Born Denise Holly Ulinskas, she married Douglas Hobbie in 1964. The real Holly Hobbie, a watercolorist and mother, who designed the
original character in the late 1960's.In the
latter part of the 1960's, while her husband was completing his college
education, Holly, who studied art education at Pratt Institute and
painting at Boston University, submitted her portfolio to American
Greetings. She sold the
illustrations to American Greetings to use on their greeting cards. Her nostalgic collection of country children made their
first public appearance on a line of greeting cards - and a character
legend was born.
Also, In
1974, Knickerbocker Toys licensed the Holly Hobbie character for a
line of rag dolls, which were a popular toy for young American girls.

The Madeit
community recently heard of the tragic death of one of our members.
Tammy Boorer and her husband were critically injured in a horrific car
accident whilst traveling to their holiday destination. Their two
children received minor injuries. Unfortunately Tammy, who was pregnant
with her third child did not survive. Her husband Nathan is still in a
critical condition in hospital. Tammy from boorah
designs was a beautiful, creative soul who began selling on madeit in
March 2009. Her signature patchwork skirts were loved by many. She was a
devoted wife and dedicated mother who began her business by making
clothes for her 2 children Zac aged 9 and Lilli aged 5. Madeit sellers
are participating in “from Madeit with Love” an event being held
specifically to raise funds for Tammy’s family. As a madeit seller I
will be donating the proceeds from the sale of this item directly to the
Ipswich Presbyterian Church who will be assisting the Boorer Family –

Back in November I was asked if I could make two custom vintage floral buntings.
I was sent some pics for me to look at & so I could co-ordinate the colours.
The main colour scheme was to be pink yellow/orange & white to match a lovely handmade quilt that was purchased from another seller on Etsy.My buyer Kate was going to give her daughter the quilt, the teepee & finally the bunting as a Christsmas gift!
The process to finding the right fabrics was a straight forward one.
I went through my stash of fabrics to find ones that I thought were suitable & I took some photos with the fabrics, all ‘numbered’.Kate was the BEST client anyone could have! She choose a few that were not quite right & I could choose from the rest of the selection for the two buntings!
Easy! Yay! Happy Days!
A Custom/ reserved listing was set up, bunting was then made, paid for, then sent out.
The ends result was just lovely, the colours were stunning - just love this colour combination, I was so excited to get it out to the buyer that I forgot to take some photos before it went out!
When the bunting arrived, the buyer sent a message and said “The fabrics are perfect, even better than the photos ... They will look truly beautiful with the quilt!”
and the feedback given (on Etsy):
“Fantastic!!! My bunting is just beautiful - even better than the pictures - and SO well made! Nicole was great to work with - and the result is brilliant! Highly recommended - a great Etsy experience! Thanks Nicole. :)”
And just as importantly, Kate’s daughter was very pleased with her vintage floral bunting and also thrilled with her matching quilt & teepee!
Yes, another happy buyer!
I just want to thank Kate for kindly taking all of these photos & allowing me to use them, it’s much appreciated, thank you. oh, just a quick note:If you have bought bunting or another item from me & you would like your photo/s to be shown on my Facebook & Blog,
I’d be happy to!Email to:cre8harmany@optusnet.com.au
