Holly Hobbie girls Aprons using all vintage fabrics - Vintage Playground Showcase 1st Sept

My Holly Hobbie girls Aprons have been completed for a few weeks now and just recently been uploaded to the Vintage Playground Facebook Page.

Recently I mentioned my Holly Hobbie Vintage flag bunting was made & posted to the Vintage Playground Facebook Page.
So now I have two items in the showcase - using different HH fabric.

This time around I was looking for something 'different to make for the showcase yet not too different to what I currently make & sell in my handmade online stores, Madeit & Etsy.

I have plenty of the HH fabric and I thought of doing these aprons many months ago but as usual I was not to motivated to make them until I heard about the Vintage Playground Facebook Page.

I have to say, making these aprons are VERY time consuming. They will not become regular items in my stores. They are all One Of A Kind.
I have made five Holly Hobbie vintage aprons, each with a different HH front 'panel'.
I'm pleased with the result. I'm loving the bright & cheerful contrasting colours of the vintage floral fabrics used. They all have a little white lace apron front which looks rather sweet.
Best fit is girls: 6 - 9 years old, approx.

I have decided to only showcase two of these aprons, the other three will either be sold on my FB page or in my stores.

Holly Hobbie Vintage Pink Flag Bunting for Vintage Playground Showcase.

Last week I finished my first item for the Vintage Playground Showcase.

Early this year I purchased a lovely baby crib sheet set from Canada (I love Ebay for such finds!), it was a Vintage Pink Holly Hobbie set, new in pack (made in Canada).
I had put it away for a little while knowing that I'll make something special when 'that time comes'.
Well..... that time has come!

I guess I always new it would be probably turned into Flag bunting. I did not do it earlier as I already had a Holly Hobbie bunting in my Madeit & Etsy stores.

I was contacted by Anya at the Sherbet Tree. She was getting together a collective of creatives that love working with vintage materials. Yep, that's me!

Holly Hobbie Pink Flag bunting.
3m (9.9 feet) in total length
All vintage fabrics, Holly Hobbie, 1960's Floral, pink Broderie Anglaise and white Doily Lace.

The submissions are starting to come in, they are looking amazing, so many talented people out there!
Most creatives are from Australia but there are a few International ones too!

My second submission will be finished very soon - another Holly Hobbie item!

I don't expect to make much in the way of sales. For me the exposure of being part of this great showcase is just wonderful. A great place to see 'like minded' creatives who love to work with vintage retro materials, just like myself.

A Custom Vintage and matching Cake Bunting Topper

I was asked if I do custom buntings - I certainly do!

A four metre vintage flag bunting in Purple toned hues was required for a special occasion.

The process was rather simple, I just asked the client, what fabric she preferred (and the ones she did not!).
An image of the selected fabrics was shown for approval, the end result, a lovely custom bunting for the client's special occassion and a bunting that can be used & cherished for future celebrations.

I was asked if I do Cake Buntings, well actually I don't normally offer these 'Toppers' as an item in my stores but I thought, why not!
A Cake Bunting Topper was created using similar vintage fabrics to the 4m custom bunting.
The client wanted Red/White twine to colour co-ordinate with other decorations that were being used.
Considering I'd never done one before, I'm rather pleased with the results!

As a special extra - a small thankyou to the Buyer, I gave some cupcake flag 'toothpick' toppers in the same fabrics. I think they will look super cute!
