Spring / Summer 1970's style Vintage Flag Bunting - A new handmade design.

It's about time I came up with a new bunting design, so here it is.....

A lovely & fun celebration banner - "A string of Happy".
Inspiration: I was thinking, a birthday celebration, maybe afternoon tea in the garden, sunshine & pretty vintage floral bunting, in the gently swaying trees..........

Spring / Summer 1970's style Vintage Flag Bunting - A new handmade design.Ideal for a Party, Birthday Present, Wedding, Engagement, Hosting a Baby Shower, Photography Prop, Market Stall or just Decorating a room.

This Vintage Style Flag Bunting adds charm and style to any room or outdoor area!

Total length is three metres (3m) / about 9.9 feet approx.
Twelve (12) flags in various vintage preloved/Upcycled fabrics.
This set of flags is a lovely combination of Preloved Vintage Floral fabrics - Just Divine!

Australian Tea Towel Cushions, many more have been listed in my stores.

Those that know me, know that I love tea towels!
I have been collecting them for about ten years. I started to make aprons in 2010 and opened up Madeit & Etsy stores in 2011.
Less that a year ago I finally got around to making cushions. Mostly Tea Towel cushions but I also make cushions from vintage retro fabrics.

Recent handmade cushions listed on Etsy - Just in time for Christmas!

Some of the the cushions are made from linen tea towels, some are made from vintage fabrics such as Sanderson - they had a previous life as curtains now upcycled into cushions.

I have listed more Tea Towel Cushions in my store.
Most of these are in my Madeit online store but you will find some in my Etsy store.

I don't sell the inserts. It's more cost effective for the buyer to purchase their own.
Cushion Inserts can be bought from a number of retail shops (in Australia) such as Spotlight, Lincraft, Big W, etc.
They often are available in various sizes. 
Some stores such as Spotlight have regular ‘Pollyfill’ inserts and Feather inserts available.Alternatively, you may want to use an old cushion that you already have, as an insert.

Cushions! It's only taken me six years to finally make some for my shop!

Cushions! It's only taken me six years to finally make some for my shop!

Back in January 2012, I was interviewed about my handmade items by Jill at 'Creating my way to Success http://jembellish.blogspot.com/'
I discussed all of the items I made, what inspired me and a little info about me.
You can see  (looking at my stores), the items I have made have not changed too much. I still do Aprons, Buntings, etc

I was asked 'What was next?'
I stated I wanted to add cushions to my range of handmade, vintage inspired items.
It's only taken me six years to finally commit time to it!

I have been collecting fabric for this purpose for over 10 years. I will introduce vintage, retro & traditional style handmade cushions. There will be some tea towel cushions and there will be some cushions using vintage linen / cotton fabrics such as Sanderson & Sheridan fabrics.

Zips were always one of my fears! I hated the look of them but I knew I had to conquer them.

In April 2012, I decided to pay for a lesson at The Thread Den.
I made a cushion, I was 'somewhat' happy with it but I just decided to not go ahead with cushions at that point, I also got too busy with other things.

Here is is:



It's 2018, I have started to make a range of cushions, they will be listed slowly on my Madeit & Etsy stores.
